INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Please read these instructions carefully. They have been written to help you make the most of your Kettle.
Since the kettle is completely detachable and rotates a full 360 degrees on its circular base it’s designed for both left-handed and right-handed people.
The kettle is complete with indicator light, ON/OFF button, and safe lid locking system. You may open the lid by pressing the top button.
Safety features: steam cut-off, boil-dry protection and overheat protection.
Important safety points
This appliance may only be operated on an electricity supply which corresponds to the voltage and type of current specified on the housing (rating plate), 220-240V 50/60Hz 1000W.
Correct installation will enhance the appearance of your room, and proper cleaning will keep the Petite Hotel Safety Kettle looking as good as new.
Any work in connection with electrical appliances should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Improper installations or repairs may place the user at serious risk.
Position the kettle away from heat and direct sunlight, and bear in mind the safety aspects of a boiling kettle.
Please check the power cable for damage from time to time. In the event of any necessary repair, including replacement of the power cable, your appliance should be sent to the specialist supplier from whom it was acquired, the manufacturer’s service agent or a suitably qualified electrician since the use of special tools is necessary.
This appliance can only be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Warning: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
Do’s and Don’ts
- Make sure lid is tightly closed.
- Keep the kettle away from naked flames.
- Do not switch on when it is empty.
- Do not fill above MAX mark.
- Do not place the cordless base unit onto a metal tray or metal surface whilst in use.
- The appliance should not be misused. Misuse may lead to injury.
- Always unplug your appliance after use and before cleaning it.
- This kettle is only suitable for heating water.
- Avoid spilling water onto the connector on the kettle and the connector on the cordless base.
Keep water away from connector on the kettle and the cordless base and do not place the kettle or the cordless base in water. If, however, the appliance should fall into water, disconnect the power supply immediately. Never place your hand in the water. Have your appliance checked by a qualified electrician before using it again.
The heating element surface, the cordless base, and the kettle, may remain hot after the appliance has been used and care needs to be taken- Always switch off at the mains power supply when not in use.
The kettle must only be used with the cordless base unit provided and is not to be filled whilst placed on the cordless base unit.
To comply with safety regulations please always ensure that the power cord length is no more than 0.75 metres, using the cord tidy in the cordless base to house any excess power cord.
If scale builds up in the kettle it should be cleaned using descalant made for metal kettles. Other descalants may cause damage.
Using the Hotel Kettle
Turn it on by pressing the ON/OFF button to ON (l) position of the handle. The indicator lamp will illuminate. Once the water boils, the kettle’s power will automatically cut off.
Then you may remove the kettle from its base and serve. Do not lift the kettle while operating. To interrupt the boiling process, press the ON/OFF button to OFF (O) position ensuring that the indicator light goes out.
Do not operate the kettle when it is empty. If the appliance is accidentally turned on when empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically turn it off. Lift the kettle from its base and adding water to cool the boil-dry protection mechanism, enabling you to use the kettle normally again.
PLEASE NOTE
Do not remove the kettle from its base until it has turned off automatically or if you have yourself turned it off.
In the interests of hygiene we recommend that the Kettle is filled, boiled and the water poured away before the kettle is used for preparing beverages.
In common with all kettles steam will escape from the areas around the spout, lid and switch steam vents when the kettle is boiling. To prevent injury you should avoid contact with the steam. The exterior of the kettle can become very hot. Only pick the kettle up by its handle.
Your Petite Hotel Safety Kettle should only be cleaned with a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners and avoid the areas around the electrical connections. Remember to completely isolate your kettle from the electricity supply before attempting to clean it.
